SHELLSBURG:  Duane "Pete" Miller passed away unexpectedly on December 4, 2023 at his home in Shellsburg.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Phillips Funeral Home in Vinton (212 E 6th Street) from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. Private family burial will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Duane was born on December 14, 1967, in South Carolina, the son of Duane and Connie (Rose) Miller. He attended Shellsburg High School.

Duane married Angela Bemer on September 27, 1989 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Duane worked as a self-employed mechanic for the majority of his life, his passion was working on cars. He also enjoyed fishing and deer hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Angela Miller of Shellsburg; children, Teresa (Joshua) Yerkes of Vinton, Jessica Miller of Shellsburg, Bethany (Riley Hopkins) Miller of Dysart, and Joseph (Veronica) Miller of Quasqueton, grandchildren; Weston Miller and Owen Miller, his mother Connie Miller, and his siblings; Kevin Miller of Atkins, Melissa Miller of Vinton, and Liz Miller of Brandon.

He was preceded in death by his father Duane Miller.
