VINTON:  Duane Howard Winterroth, 84, died Monday, September 10, 2018 at Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo following an extended illness.

Graveside Services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, September 12 at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton.

Duane was born August 25, 1934 at Dysart to Harry and Marie (Schlopkohl) Winterroth and graduated from the Dysart High School, where he participated in baseball and basketball. Prior to his retirement he farmed in the Dysart and Vinton area.  In his leisure he enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and gardening with his wife.

On April 7, 1956 he was united in marriage to Carol Hulme.  She preceded him in death.

He is survived by his daughter, Jodi (Tuan Le) Winterroth of Waterloo, and her children, Jessica (Zack Fennern) Yerkes, Jennifer (Nic) Taylor; his sons, Rocky (Deb) Winterroth of Rose, OK and their children, Tabitha (Mark) Kaiser, Clinton and Colton, Rory (Raela) Winterroth and their children, Brooke, Mandey, Trinedy and Skyler, and Rusty Winterroth and his children, Justin, Dillon, Tiffany and Chase, all of Vinton; several great grandchildren and one great-great grandson; his sister, Zybel Abernathy (Tom Hannah) and his sister-in-law, Barb Winterroth.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Rex and brother, Richard.
