VAN HORNE:  Gail J. Morris, age 50, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2023, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha, with her family by her side.

A celebration of Gail's life will be held at 10:00 AM Sunday, September 10, 2023 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton, with Harm Olthouse officiating. Reception following at the Van Horne Community Center (508 1st Ave.) in Van Horne.

Gail was born on October 1, 1972, in Springfield, Vermont, the daughter of Ronald and Linda (Fisher) Morris. She graduated from Bellows Falls High School in Bellows Falls, Vermont, and attended Champlain College in Burlington, VT, majoring in early childhood education.  She was a classroom assistant in Vermont, working with special needs children. Gail served in Seattle, WA as a Word over the World Ambassador with The Way International in 1992-1993. She moved to Iowa in 2018 and worked in distribution at Frontier Co-op in Norway for five years. Gail was very outgoing, loving, and giving. She loved God, His Word, her family, and her many friends.

Survivors include her mother, Linda Thompson; father, Ronald Morris; brother, Vince (Dawn) Morris; 2 nephews, Craig and Isaac Morris; and her niece, Janelle Morris; all of Van Horne. Memorials may be given in Gail's honor to The Way International: www.theway.org.
