Janice was born on October 7, 1939 on the Keystone farm to Peter and Hilda (Seeck) Junge. She graduated from Keystone High School in 1958. On October 25, 1958, she was united in marriage to Delf W. Sievers at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone. Delf and Janice farmed in the Keystone area most of their married life. Janice also worked for a number of years at Stoney Creek in Blairstown.
Janice and Delf worked hard and made sure their children had a good work ethic. They loved spending time with family and friends. They belonged to a card club which they both enjoyed. They enjoyed traveling home to Germany to see Delf’s brother and his family as well as other friends and relatives. The German relatives also came to Keystone to visit. Janice was a life long member of St. John Lutheran Church. She enjoyed bowling, and played softball in her younger years. She very much enjoyed helping with Children’s Day at the Turner Hall and looked forward to seeing the local children every year.
Janice is survived by her children, Brad (Mary) Sievers of Luzerne, Laurie (Daniel) Buffington of Cedar Rapids; Dirk (Carrie) Sievers of Keystone; 11 grandchildren, Dustin and Melissa, Eric, Tiffany and Alex, Clint and Jenny, Amanda and Jeff, Kaitlyn, Matt and Cherise, Cody, Eric and Danielle, Christina, and Andrea; 16 great grandchildren; sister Shirley Peters of Keystone; and her special Sievers nieces and nephews in Germany, Hilke, and Jorge, and Dirk, and Tina.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Delf in 2022, son Douglas in 2025; daughter-in-law Ellen Sievers; siblings, Betty, Lola, Corley, Marlys, Mariann, and Helen; and her Sievers in-laws, Anna Lisa, Helga, and brother Wilm, and Ina.
