VAN HORNE:  Jerreldene Ann "Jerri" Simmons, age 82, passed away on Wednesday September 29, 2021, at her home in Van Horne.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, October 4, 2021, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Van Horne with Rev. David Lingard officiating.  Interment will be held at St. John Cemetery, Newhall.

Jerri was born on November 5, 1938, in Mount Pleasant, the daughter of Harold and Dorothy (Jerrel) Niece.  She was united in marriage to Kieth Simmons on July 29, 1974 at the Episcopal Church in Cedar Rapids.  Jerri worked as a social worker for many years at Options of Linn County.  She was a member and faithful attendee of St. Andrew Lutheran in Van Horne and the Missionary Society.  Jerri loved antiques and also showed and bred Himalayan cats.

She is survived by her daughter Kim Unkrich of Van Horne; grandchildren, Steele Unkrich of Van Horne, and Sissi Ann Unkrich of Washington, IA; and 4 great grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; husband Kieth; son, Scott Wesley Unkrich, and her brother Ron Niece.
