VINTON: Jerry Edwin Bartosh, 75, passed away surrounded by family and friends Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Jerry was born March 5, 1951, in Belle Plaine, Iowa, to Joseph and Eileen (Walters) Bartosh. He graduated from Dysart-Geneseo High School in 1970. On March 27, 1971, he was united in marriage to Barbara Schlak at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Marengo, Iowa. They later divorced in 1986.

Jerry was a truck driver for over 40 years, most recently with Morrison Trucking in Alburnett, and retired in 2023. He was the recipient of a Safe Driver Award for 15 years without a preventable accident and Million Mile Award for driving 1 million miles without a preventable accident. He enjoyed watching Nascar, especially Jeff Gordon, and football, as a Vikings fan. He played baseball in high school. He was on a bowling league for some time in his younger years. He loved camping, boating, and riding his Honda Goldwing with his brother, Cliff, when he wasn’t working.

He is survived by his children, Vikki (Rodney) Kula, Robby (Stacy) Bartosh, and Matthew (Cassie) Bray; his grandchildren, Addison and Dawson Kula, Christian, Chelsey, and Elijah Irish, Phoenix Bartosh, and Sayge and Journey Bray; his great-grandchildren, Amelia Irish and Ronan Irish; and his brother, Clifford Bartosh.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Eileen.
