VINTON:  Jim Howard, age 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 18, 2024 in Hiawatha, Iowa.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday January 27, 2024, at the Urbana Methodist Church, with Rev. Michael Sells officiating.  Following the memorial service, the family would like to invite everyone for refreshments at the church. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 17 at 10:00 AM at Urbana Memorial Cemetery.

Jim was born July 19, 1947, in Chico, CA, to Lawrence and Billie (Crawford) Howard. Jim was employed by the United States Air Force for 20 years, he also worked for 18 years at the Air Force Academy Civil Service. On May 18, 1968 he was united in marriage to Carolyn Clime in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Jim was a member of the Walter J. Meyocks American Legion Post #264. Jim was a very active member of the Urbana Methodist Church, serving on the Board of Trustees for many years. He also enjoyed woodworking, and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn of Vinton; daughter, Lisa (Ryan) Campbell, and grandson, Michael Howard of Colorado Springs.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Laura Howard; Father-in-law Marshall Clime, and mother-in-law Alice Clime.
