Obituary

VINTON:  Jim Toth, 80, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at his home in Vinton.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday July, 13, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vinton with Rev. Jim Brokman as Celebrant.  Private family interment will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Oxford, IA.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until service time Wednesday at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.

Jim was born June 19, 1942 in Greensburgh, PA, the son of Emery and Genevieve (Barrett) Toth.  He graduated from Hempfield High School in Greensburgh, PA, with the class of 1960.  He later received an Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy.  He worked as a respiratory therapist for many years.  Jim was a loyal Pittsburgh sports fan, and loved to follow the Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates in football, hockey, and baseball.  He also enjoyed college football especially the Hawkeyes.  Jim also followed wrestling and very much admired Dan Gable.  Jim could also be found in the outdoors.  He enjoyed running and walking all over town.  When he was able, Jim loved to drive to drive to National Parks, and would often travel for several weeks with no set itinerary.

He is survived by his children, Christopher (Esther) Toth of Marion, Rachel Dedrick of Mt. Auburn; 5 grandchildren, Isaac Toth, Duncan (Alexandra) McCain, Natalie Wade, Faye Wade, and Elsie Dedrick; and his sister, Terri (Don) Gibbons of Boise, ID.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his ex-wife Charlotta Toth-Fisher.
