Obituary

Joseph Wilhelm Bartosh, 61, of Keystone, Iowa, passed away at his home on March 31, 2025.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 825 W Miller St, Marengo.

Joe was born Oct 7, 1963, at Marengo Memorial Hospital to William Bartosh and Arleta (Kaufmann) Bartosh. He was baptized at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Luzerne. He began his education at College Community Schools in Cedar Rapids until the 2nd grade when the family moved to rural Marengo. He then attended Belle Plaine Schools, graduating with the class of 1982.

He worked for Brooklyn Building Center in Brooklyn after graduation. In 1986, he began a 22 ½ year employment with Amana Refrigeration. He then worked seasonally for grain companies until taking a job at Kinze Manufacturing, where he was employed for 13 years until retiring in August of 2024. He was then employed at Dollar General in Keystone, Iowa. Joe's interests included road trips, shopping for bargains, music, watching movies and TV, and outdoor activities, especially motorcycling and operating ATVs.

He is survived by a sister Victoria (Daniel) Dietrich of Marengo, Iowa; 2 nieces Mindy (Brad) Evans of Brooklyn, Iowa, Nicole (Brian) Spensley of Lexington, S.C.; a nephew Ross (Sabrina) Kriegel of Marengo; 6 great-nieces and nephews Morgan Evans, Andrew and Jonathan Spensley, Carter, Catherine and Caroline Kriegel; his aunt, Marjorie Huebner of Mountain Home, Arkansas, his stepmother Sally Bartosh of Belle Plaine; and 3 step siblings, Wendy (Terry) Damisch, Mark Jorgenson and Terry McDowell.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents and 2 nephews.
