URBANA: Leo M. Roseberry, 93 passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids following a brief illness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday April 2, 2024, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Urbana, with Fr. Jim Brokman officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Urbana. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Monday April, 1st also at the church.
Leo was born on December 4, 1930, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Max and Louise (Lampman) Roseberry. Leo graduated from Urbana High School. On October 23, 1950, Leo married the love of his life Madonna Smith at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spencer's Grove, celebrating their 73rd wedding anniversary this past October. He was deeply devoted to and beloved by his family, Leo will be greatly missed by his children and grandchildren.
Leo was an active member of the Urbana community for many years having owned and operated Roseberry Hardware and plumbing, heating, and electrical services. He was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. A man of many talents, Leo could fix, build, or create anything that he put his mind to. Leo was a very talented woodworker, and his creations will be forever treasured by his family. In addition to spending time with family, Leo loved playing cards, fishing, scuba diving, traveling, and camping.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Madonna; son, Randy (Kathy) Roseberry, daughters; Brenda (Mark) Tjaden, and Rhonda (Pete) Fronczak, grandchildren; Elizabeth Ashlock, AJ Narveson, Chad Roseberry, Amber Cress, Nick Fronczak, Aaron Fronczak, Taylor Roseberry, Lauren Roseberry, and Gabe Tjaden, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Yvonne Kramer.
