NEWHALL:  Lewis Waldo Newell, age 92, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 17, 2020, at Colonial Manor in Amana.

His body has been donated to the University of Iowa for anatomical study.  There will be no public services.

Lewis was born on August 13, 1927, in Laurens, Iowa, to Loyal and Laura (Schreyer) Newell.  He graduated from Laurens High School in 1944 . Lewis served his country in the United States Navy.  On March 14, 1948, he was united in marriage to Stacia Book in Laurens, Iowa.   Lewis farmed and retired from Wilson's in Cedar Rapids.

He is survived by his daughter, Rajahneen Newell of Newhall.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Stacia; 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
