Lorraine Lounett (Dufresne) Rider, 59, formerly of Brandon, died Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids.

A Celebration of Life Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Thursday, October 24 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E 6 ^th St.) in Vinton. Private Committal Services will be held at the Brandon Cemetery at a later date.  Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association.

Lorraine was born July 3, 1960 in Cedar Rapids to Kenneth E. and Nellie (Degroot) Dufresne.  She graduated from Independence High School in 1979.  On March 23, 1985 she married Kelly Ray Rider.  The couple later divorced.

Lorraine had worked as client coordinator for Genesis.  An avid reader, Lorraine also enjoyed sewing and crafts.  She also loved red roses, watching soap operas and listening to Elvis.

Her memory will be cherished by her children Matthew Rider of Omaha, NE, Michael Rider of Cedar Rapids, and Amanda Rider of Urbana; her brothers, Larry Degroot and Steven Dufresne: and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth "Dale" Dufresne and her sister, Carol Little.
