VINTON:  Lorraine L. (Struve) Steinford, age 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Keystone Nursing Care Center.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton.  Visitation will be held from Noon until 2:45 pm Wednesday at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6 ^th St.) in Vinton.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Hospice Compassus.

Lorraine was born on January 15, 1924 in Elberon, the daughter of Louis and Laura (Schlieman) Struve. She graduated from Dysart High School with the class of 1942.  She was united in marriage to Duane Steinford and the couple later divorced.

Lorraine worked for Benton County DHS as a social worker for 19 years, retiring in 1988.  She was a member of the Vinton Women's Club.

She is survived by her children, Lori (Jim) Hill of Mt. Auburn, Kirk (Penny) Steinford of Vinton; her daughter-in-law, Christy Steinford of Marengo; three grandchildren, Brook (Cody) Roberts of Victor, Cami Steinford of Marengo, and Courtney (Danny) Bieshaar of Englewood, CO; her great-grandson Rhett Allen Blake Roberts; two brothers, Darwin Struve of Vinton, Rex (Sara) Struve of Monticello; and numerous nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband Duane, Lorraine was preceded in death by her son Blake Steinford; and three brothers, Howard, Berlyn, and Orland Struve.
