Madonna was born on October 23, 1931 to John and Christina (Kramer) Smith on their farm in Urbana. She graduated from Urbana High School in 1950. On October 23, 1950, she was united in marriage to Leo Roseberry. Madonna and Leo ran Roseberry Hardware in Urbana until they retired.
She would almost always be found coloring, cross stitching, or making diamond art when you walked in the door. She loved playing cards and was a long-time member of Card Club. She was always watching basketball games on TV, or Jeopardy, or Wheel-of-Fortune. Madonna and Leo loved to do crafts, play cards, and travel together. They were fortunate enough to visit many beautiful places within the United States and abroad. She loved spending time with her family, especially watching the little ones playing. She said she didn’t think she’d live long enough to see her first great-grandchild graduate, but she did, and she was so happy to be able to accomplish that.
Madonna is survived by her son, Randy (Kathy) Roseberry, daughters; Brenda (Mark) Tjaden, and Rhonda (Pete) Fronczak, grandchildren; Elizabeth Ashlock, A.J. (Katie) Narveson, Amber (Erik) Cress, Nick (Alicia) Fronczak, Aaron Fronczak, Taylor (Jeff) Roseberry, Lauren Roseberry, and Gabe Tjaden, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Christina; her siblings, Katherine Smith, Rosina Takes, Donald Smith, Mildred Peters, Paul Smith, Junior Smith, Bernadine Hepker, Robert Smith; her niece, Colleen Smith; and her grandson, Chad Roseberry.
In lieu of flowers memorial funds can be sent to Brenda Tjaden at 5593 32nd Ave, Center Point 52213.
