VINTON: Mark Kelty, 70, passed away at his home in Vinton on Monday, October 5, 2026.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, October 9, 2026, at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Vinton (212 E. 6th Street). Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 10 at the chapel. A luncheon will be held following the service at the Urbana Legion Hall.

Mark was born on August 6, 1956 in Vinton to Richard and Rita (Zieser) Kelty. He graduated from Urbana High School in 1975, and worked for Benton County Secondary Roads for most of his life. On June 16, 1979, he was united in marriage to Linda Rinderknecht at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Urbana. Mark loved playing cards, cooking, and riding motorcycles. He adored spending time with all of his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; his children, Nick (Mickel) Kelty and Mathew (Amber Valentine) Kelty; his grandchildren, Aiwa, Aila, Airish, Aiceni, and Kaleb (Lew) Kelty; his siblings, David (Donna) Kelty, Brett (Loraine) Kelty, Shannon (Karie) Kelty, Lori (Lonnie) Williams, and Sean Kelty; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Rita.
