VINTON:  Martha Edna (Krug) Edwards, age 100, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at the Vinton Lutheran Home.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 PM, Friday, December 9, 2022, at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6 ^th Street) in Vinton, with Rev. Stephen Preus officiating.  Visitation will be held from 12:30 PM until service time.  Interment will be held at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Atkins.  A memorial fund has been established.

Martha was born on February 23, 1922, in Atkins, to John P. and Clara (Beitz) Krug.  She was united in marriage to Raymond Edwards in 1966 in Florida.  Raymond preceded Martha in death in July of 2000.

Martha lived most of her adult life in Florida, where she worked as an office bookkeeper.  Martha returned to Iowa to be closer to family and resided at the Lutheran Home since December of 2018.

She is survived by her nieces, Alice Whitlatch of Tipton, Floy Kersten of Dysart, Joan Schultz of Cedar Rapids, and Eunice (Tom) Pingenot of Vinton; many great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews.
