VINTON:  Michael "Mike" Burkhart, age 69, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024, at his home in Vinton.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 1:00 PM until 2:15 PM at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Vinton. Funeral services will also be held on Saturday, January 20 at 2:30 PM with Rev. Stephen Preus officiating. Graveside services will be held at a later date.

Mike was born on December 19, 1954, in La crosse, Wisconsin, the son of Robert and Gretchen (Miller) Burkhart. After completing high school, Mike attended Western Wisconsin Technical College in La Crosse and earned an associate degree in graphic design.  On February 14, 1997, he was united in marriage to Lynda Warnken in Winona, Minnesota.

He enjoyed painting, playing guitar, pheasant hunting, and fishing. He was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton.

Mike is survived by his wife Lynda; 3 stepdaughters, Jennifer, Christina, and Diana; siblings, James Burkhart, Carol Lietzow, Phillip Burkhart, Julie Wuensch, Marilyn Burkhart, David Burkhart, Patrick Burkhart, Greg Burkhart, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother Tom Burkhart.
