BELLE PLAINE: Nanci Kay (Nissen) Parizek, 55, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at Compass Memorial Hospital in Marengo.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone, with Pastor Josiah Schultz officiating. Interment will be held at the Keystone Cemetery, followed by a reception at the church. A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 PM, Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone.
Nanci was born on March 15, 1970, in Iowa City, the adopted daughter of Robert and Glennis (Selken) Nissen. She graduated from Benton Community High School with the class of 1988, where she excelled in the discus in track & field. She was also a member of 4-H. She furthered her education at Hawkeye Tech and received her degree in Medical Transcription. Nanci had worked at the Keystone Nursing Care Center and at Victor Plastics.
Nanci enjoyed gardening, cooking and canning. She loved to spend time with her family.
She is survived by her life partner, Duane Kruse of Belle Plaine; 4 step-children, Brook, Tori, and Patrick Kruse, and Makaylee Parizek; step-grandchildren, Grayson, and Gracie; her siblings, Teri (Randy) Geiger of Keystone, Barry Nissen of Keystone, Traci (Don) Stewart of Story City; her biological father Greg (Cinda) Morey, and his children, Kurt Morey, and Laura Vileta; as well as many nieces, and nephews, and great-nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and infant brothers, Timothy, and Thomas Nissen.
