Nancy R. (Gordon) Good, 81, of Vinton, passed away on March 11, 2026, at the Lutheran Home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton with Rev. Stephen Preus officiating. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton, followed by a luncheon at the church. Friends may call from 4-7 PM, Friday, March 13, at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th St., Vinton).
Nancy was born in Vinton on April 3, 1944, to James and Dora Jean (Remington) Gordon. She graduated from Washington High School in Vinton in 1962. Nancy married Dean Good on April 22, 1967, at St John's Lutheran Church in Newhall.
Prior to her retirement, Nancy working for Home Health at Virginia Gay Hospital. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Nancy was a passionate volunteer, helping many organizations, such as the Red Cross where she organized the blood mobile for blood drives, and the Palace Theater. She was a member of PEO, 4-H, the Booster's Club, the Red Hat Club, the Mentor Club, and the Woman's Club where she won Woman of the Year in 2006. Nancy also loved playing bridge, spending time at the beach, and shelling. But her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and attending her grandkids' activities.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Dean; three children, Derrick (Terri) Good of Weatherford, Texas, Ryan (Casie) Good of North Liberty, and Jennifer Good of Wheat Ridge, Colorado; Siblings, Constance Jean Gill, Rickie Joe (Lonna) Gordon, Margot Ann (Roger) Nowicke, and Dwyn Ellen (Shawn) Thudium; her Grandchildren, Kendalyn Mulvey, Sophie Good, Amelia Good, Elijah Good, and Ronan Good.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, James and Dora Jean; her brother, Scott Gordon; and brother-in-law, Pat Gill.
