Vinton: Nancy (Bertie) Laberta Kirk, 84, of Vinton passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at the Keystone Care Center.

A private family service and burial will be held.

Nancy was born on July 28,1938, in Selmer, Tennessee, the daughter of Mauro and Amy (Knight) Simpson. She graduated from Woodbury College in Los Angeles with an associates degree. On April 12, 1958, she was united in marriage to David Kirk in Boulder City, Nevada. Nancy was employed in the admissions department at Virginia Gay Hospital for the majority of her career, also working for other hospitals in the past. She enjoyed scrapbooking, gardening, and photography.

She is survived by her children, Christopher (Mary) Kirk of Garrison, Carol (Brett) Peterson of Cedar Rapids, Kathie (Dave) Stander of Vinton, Kelly (Paul) Roster of Vinton; grandchildren, Cory Kirk, Daniel Kirk, Timothy Kirk, Scottie Kirk, William Kirk, D.J. Stander (Stevi), Doris Kirk, Trisha Stander (Chaz), Sara Kirk, Shelby (Matt Faas, Mandy (Forest) Peters, and Eric Morf; Several great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; and her brother, Bill (Susan) Simpson of Oregon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband David in 2009; sons, Scott and Stuart Kirk, and her sister, Ann Ugarte.
