SHELLSBURG:  Nathan Dale "Nate" Wiebold, age 27, passed away on, Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at his home in Shellsburg, following a sudden illness.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, December 16, 2022 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6 ^th Street) in Vinton with Rev. Adam Baumann officiating.  Interment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Shellsburg.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.  A memorial fund has been established.

Nate was born on February 18, 1995, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Tony and Wendy Sue (Carver) Wiebold.  He graduated from Vinton-Shellsburg High School, in Vinton, with the Class of 2013. Nate furthered his education at Kirkwood Community College and Iowa State University.  He recently started a career change to healthcare working at Unity Point St. Luke's Hospital as a Patient Care Tech.

Nate loved spending time making memories with family and friends, and playing with his beloved dog Margo.  He was an avid sports watcher, favoring the Indianapolis Colts.

Nate is survived by his parents; sisters, Tiffany (Jerry) Banghart, Jamee (Sawyer Digman) Wiebold, all of Shellsburg; nephews, Tatum Digman and Jayce Nathaniel Digman, expected in April of 2023; his fur baby Margo; grandparents, James (Roberta) Carver of Alburnett; Louise Zimmerman of Cedar Rapids; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, and great-grandparents; maternal great-grandparents and fur-nephews Benny, and King.
