URBANA:  Nick A. Venenga, age 45, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, with his loving family by his side, at Unity Point St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, following an apparent heart attack.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, March 28, 2022 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6 ^th Street) in Vinton.  Interment will follow at the Palo Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 3:00 until 7:00 PM, Sunday, at the funeral home.  A memorial fund has been established.

Nick was born, on November 3, 1976, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Larry Lee and Nora (Packingham) Venenga and graduated from Vinton-Shellsburg High School with the class of 1995.  On October 14, 1998, he was united in marriage to Melissa Miller in Vinton.

Nick worked as a CDL driver for a number of waste management companies throughout his career.  He loved to grill for his family and friends He was an avid outdoorsman and truly loved fishing, hunting, and scrapping in his spare time.  Nick was a devoted family man, spending time with Melissa and his kids and granddaughter was his greatest joy.

He is survived by his wife Melissa of Urbana; his mother, Nora (Ed Greenhaw) Venenga of Palo; children, Hailey (Seth Eastwood) Venenga of Cedar Rapids; Wes Venenga and his daughter Octavia Reeves of Urbana; 2 brothers, Scott Venenga of Cedar Rapids, Steve Venenga of Palo; sister Sandy (Tony) Kunkel of Lone Tree; and many aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Larry, and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
