VINTON:  Patricia Ann Detling, age 68, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at University Hospitals and Clinics, following a short battle with cancer.

A Celebration of Patricia's life will be held from 1:00 until 3:00 PM, Saturday, September 30, 2023, at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton.  Memorials may be directed to the University of Iowa Cancer Center or the Stead Family Children's Hospital.

Trish was born on January 14, 1955 in Red Oak, Iowa, the daughter of Francis Marion, and Genevieve Delores (Fish) Shaw.  She graduated from Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids, with the class of 1973.  On April 5, 1980, she was united in marriage to Jerold Detling in Moline, Illinois.  Trish dearly loved her family and was proud to be a devoted stay at home wife, mother, and grandmother.

Survivors include her loving husband of 43 years, Jerry of Vinton; children, Joshua Detling and his son Jaxon of Vinton, and Jenni (Mike) Moody, and their children, Jersey, Cylie, and Michael, all of Cedar Rapids.

Trish was preceded in death by her parents, and members of her Shaw family.
