SHELLSBURG:  Robert R. "Rob" Kibbie Jr., 56, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 8, 2021, at his home in Shellsburg.

A celebration of Rob's life will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6 ^th Street) in Vinton.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until service time.  Interment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Shellsburg.  A reception will be held at the Ray and Virginia Boyer American Legion Hall in Shellsburg, following the committal service.

Rob was born on August 19, 1964, in Cedar Rapids to Robert R. and Anna Marie (Harrelson) Kibbie Sr.  He graduated from Shellsburg High School in 1982.

Rob enjoyed hunting and fishing, shooting pool and gambling.  He made many lifelong friendships.  He was a gifted story-teller and loved a good debate.  Rob enjoyed following history, news, and politics.

He is survived by his sons, Robert (Mariah) Kibbie of Vinton, Dillon Kibbie of Shellsburg; his mother Anna Marie Kibbie of Shellsburg; 3 sisters, Deanna Vogt of Madison, WI, Shari (Randy) Blattler of Oskaloosa, and Janelle Kreutner of Shellsburg.

He was preceded in death by his father Robert Sr., in 1987; 2 daughters, Angel Marie Kibbie, and Nicole Renee Jacobson; and his brother-in-law Thomas Kreutner.
