WATKINS:  Robert Lee Swehla, age 73, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha with his family by his side.

Graveside services will be held for Robert and his wife Sharon at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Mound Cemetery in Watkins.

Robert was born on December 18, 1947, in Fayette, IA. the son of Robert Frank and Emma (Pavlovec) Swehla.

On June 1, 1991, Robert was united in marriage to Sharon (Haley) in Norway, IA.

Robert worked as an over the road trucker and retired from Van Wyk Inc of Sheldon, IA.

He is survived by his 3 children, Robert (Dusty) Swehla of Marion, Deborah Swehla of Des Moines, and Matthew (Elon) Swehla of Palo; 2 step-children, Charlene Costello of Marion, and Charles Costello of Cedar Rapids; 6 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren; and his brother David Swehla of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife Sharon on April 7, 2020.
