NEWHALL: Roger Allen Von Ahsen, 73, passed away Monday, July 6, 2026, at Regency Care Center of Norwalk.

Private interment will be held at a later date.

Roger was born on November 17, 1952, in Williamsburg Iowa to Erwin and Esther (Smith) Von Ahsen. He graduated from Benton Community High School in 1971. He served in the Air Force from 1971 to 1975, and was a member of the Norway American Legion post #234. Roger worked as a carpenter for about 8 years and loved carpentry.

Roger is survived by his son, Nathan Von Ahsen; his adopted daughter, Danielle (James) Schultz; his brother, Kelyn (Lori) Von Ahsen of Newhall; his sister, Betty Jo (Roy) Peich; and his grandchildren, Bailey and Harper Von Ahsen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Erwin and Esther; and his sister, Carolyn Von Ahsen.

The family would like to thank Pastor Rempfer and Holly for their visits and prayers, and for the cousins who spent time with him, were greatly appreciated.
