VINTON:  Sally Ann Benson-Hackett, age 62, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 1, 2022 , at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6 ^th Street) in Vinton with Rev. Phil Borleske officiating.  Interment will be held at Maplewood Cemetery in Vinton.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until service time on Saturday, also at the funeral home.

Sally was born on December 16, 1959, the daughter of William. and Lois (Hertrampf) Benson in Vinton, IA.  She grew up in Vinton and moved to Colorado in 1985.  She was employed at MacDonald Equipment Company in Commerce City, Colorado.  She returned to Vinton in 2015 to help care for her father.  Sally enjoyed gardening and raising plants.  Always a dog lover, Sally raised Shar Pei's for a number of years.  She also enjoyed crafting, jewelry, gardening, cooking and baking.

She is survived by her brothers, Jason Benson of Tipton, Eric Benson of Cedar Rapids; sisters, Cindy Blackburn of Marion, Lacey (Dan) Mason of Kellogg, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents; brother Blake Benson; sister-in-law Vicki Benson; and brother-in-law Charlie Blackburn.
