VINTON:  Shirley Ann Dietrich, age 90, passed away on December 7, 2023 in Fairfax.

There will be a private family burial per Shirley's wishes.

Shirley was born on September 1, 1933 in rural Watkins, the daughter of Art and Ann (Wittenburg) Possehl. She graduated from Blairstown High School in 1951. Following high school Shirley attended Cedar Rapids Business College and later graduated.

Shirley was united in marriage to Richard Dietrich on June 10, 1952 at Grace Lutheran in Blairstown. The couple moved to Vinton in 1978.

Shirley was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the mission circle. She loved spending time with her family and friends, gardening, playing cards, and sewing.

She is survived by her sons, Jim Dietrich of Norway, and Terry (Karee) of Fairfax, several grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard in 2002, sons; Ricky Dietrich, Jerry Dietrich, and David Dietrich; and sister Annette in infancy.
