Obituary

VINTON:  Susan K. (Parmater) Nosbish, 71 of Vinton died Thursday, October 4, 2018 following a sudden illness.  Visitation will be held from 11 AM – 1 PM on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Phillips Family Center, 605 Second Avenue in Vinton.  The casket will remain closed at all times.  Private family graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton following the visitation.  Phillips Funeral Home in Vinton is in charge of arrangements.  Online condolences may be left at: www.phillipsfuneralhomes.com .

Susan Kay Parmater was born November 21, 1946 in Vinton to Robert Eugene Sr. and Bernice Mae (Whitson) Parmater.  She graduated from Geneseo Community School and attended Upper Iowa University for two years.  Susan worked for many years at National Computer Services scoring Iowa Test of Basic Skills.

During high school, Susan was an excellent basketball and softball player.  She loved growing up on the family farm.  Susan enjoyed camping and fishing with her girls including many trips to Canada.  She loved golfing, waterskiing, woodworking and raisings horses on the farm.  Susan especially loved all of the time she spent with her beloved dogs.

Susan is survived by her three daughters, Angie (Stuart) Bohling of Cedar Rapids, Shelly (Matt) Geiken of Bettendorf and Kristi (Josh) Crist of Tipton; her grandchildren, Cassie and Cale, Addyson, Kennedy, Kadi and Kortney; her brother, Rick (Pam) Parmater of Vinton and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert E. Parmater Jr., her sister, Beth Bader and her niece, Suanne Bader.
