VINTON:  Tyler Ray Avis, 24, died Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at his residence.  A celebration of life will be held from 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM, Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Celebration Park in Vinton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established and may be directed to Troy Avis. 5132 Skyline Dr. NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405

Tyler was born in Cedar Rapids on August 22, 1999, the son of Troy Avis and Melanie Reeves. He was an avid video gamer with a passion for the outdoors, where he enjoyed mushroom hunting and fishing.  Tyler also loved dogs.  He was currently employed at Theisen's Home Farm Auto in Vinton.

He is survived by his father, Troy (Tammy) Avis; his mother, Melanie Reeves; 3 siblings, Alex (Lizzy) Avis, Serenity Reeves and Venus Reeves; his maternal grandfather, Steve (Cindy) Reeves, maternal grandmother, Annette Rogenkamp; his paternal grandmother, Deborah Avis; 3 uncles, Trent, Trevor and Joshua; his special niece, Octavia Reeves; and several cousins.

Tyler was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ray Avis and his uncle, Jacob Reeves
