VINTON:  Yvonne Lee Clare (Frantz) Burkhart, 89 of Vinton died Monday, May 5, 2025 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a sudden illness.  Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, May 19, 2025 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Vinton with Pastor Brian Channel officiating.  Friends may call from 4 - 6 PM, Sunday, May 18th at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 East 6th St, Vinton).  Memorials may be directed to Wesley United Methodist Church.

Yvonne was born February 23, 1936 to Alfred and Ruby (Little) Frantz.  She graduated from Palo High School in 1953 and received an associate's degree from Cedar Rapids Business School.  On November 21, 1958 she married Howard "Jack" Burkhart in Cedar Rapids.  In addition to being a farm wife, Yvonne worked for many years in the Benton County Treasurer and Clerk of Court offices.

As a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Yvonne was active in Pep club, Mentor Literature Club, the food pantry and the bell choir.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, especially orchids and African Violets.  Yvonne also loved cats and was a Hawkeye football and women's basketball fan.  Her greatest joy came from her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Yvonne is survived by her children, Craig Burkhart, Jeff (Becky Sausker) Burkhart, Mark (Linda) Burkhart, and Valerie Burkhart; her grandchildren, Andrew (Kayli) Burkhart, Ashley (Adrian) Meyer, Svetlana (Michael Wehage) Fisher and Megan Fisher; and her great grandchildren, Kenley and Korbin Burkhart, Hannah and Bode Meyer, and Drayko and Braxley Wehage.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, "Jack" in 2018; daughter-in-law, Kathy McGuire; and her brother, Floyd Frantz.
